When you, entering a forest, perceive the beauty of the forest and you feel to be in a complete harmony with it, then, intuitively, you are in peace with the Deities. They are an essential part of our real nature, our Deep Nature, and when we are separated by our real nature we live in the fear. Perceiving such normality means giving a real sense to our lives.

Undertaking the Roman Via to the Deities implies a path to awakening: with the practice of continuing consciousness and awareness we undertake our walking knowing that taking the path is more important than the destination itself

Respect for Food

Some days ago, as usual in this period, we have been engaged in the olive harvest. Agricultural works and activities are fountamental practices both in practical and in spiritual terms.

I'm trying to inspire my life to the Arval Principles: so for me enforcing my roots with the Earth plays a crucial role.

During a brief break for lunch, eating a frugal meal based on bread, beans, cheese and wine, I wanted to mention and invoke some Deities I considered relevant for the work we were making. Starting from Janus, I cited for example, Minerva, Ceres, Pluto and Proserpina, Pomona, Venus, Maia Volcani, Flora and Gaia, Dyonisus, Consus, Liber et Libera, Mars (and other agricultural Deities from the Indigitamenta) concluding with Vesta (in accordance with the traditional rite).

Mentioning these Gods and Goddesses drove me to think about the large number of Forces, Energies and elements contributing to create the food we finally eat. Elements from the ground, the weather, plants and animals, the mens'/womens' work: it is a long series of components giving an enormous value to food.

I thought moreover that many people (above all kids), jusr buying the food they eat, very often do not understand and know the real value of food because their links with Nature and the Earth, embodied also by food, have been definitively broken and lost. Of course I'm not thinking about the sole economic value, but also, and maybe above all, about the substantial, intrinsic and symbolic value of food during all its constitutive phases from production to consumption.

I consider myself very lucky because I have a small garden where I can cultivate part of the family food. I live in the countryside so, anytime I can, I participate to many agricultural works in the country. I have also attended several times to the animals' butchery for the family needs in the farms in the surroundings. This is to say that these things always remember me what exactly underlies a dish of salad or broccoli, a bowl of beans, a steak or a chicken wing.

I my opinion, all this can be a form of Colere Deos/Deas.

When mentioning or invoking all these Gods and Goddesses we finally streghten our awareness about the complex combination of so many components behind the food we eat. All this can stimulate respect and sacrality for food: this is the reason why having a meal can become a rite. Sharing a meal in the family or with some friends is definitively a rite: drinking a glass of wine with this spirit can become a liturgy.

The sacred role of food is also evidenced by "simplicity". I think that it should be always better choosing and eating food composed by few simple ingredients. What kind of respect can we have for a food made mainly by unintellegible chemicals?

I believe that eating hamburgers in a fast food or always buying frozen food in a big supermarket, all the habits making eating food just a mechanical, impersonal, automatic and unaware action, contribute to push us far away from the sacred meaning of food and from the Forces and Energies involved in its creation. Of course I don't want to assert that everyone should have a garden to cultivate his/her own food. I'm not a fanatic against fast food restaurants, junk food and so on.  This is not the point of the issue.

This post should be considered just a little invitation to be aware about the importance to maintain the links with Nature and with the food deriving from her. It's important not to lose this link, the respect and the sense of sacred role of food.

In addition  all this will contribute to our physical and spiritual health.

Pluto and Proserpina

I would like to dedicate this post to analyze, even if briefly, role and meaning of a very important Divine Force structured into two polarities: the male (Pluto) and the female (Proserpina) polarity.

Probably these are the best known infernal polarities but too often they are quite equivocated also under the influence of many monoteist prejudices. It is important to remind that the Idea of Inferi, according to the Traditional Roman Spirituality, is completely different from the idea of Hell of the monoteism (under many points of view they are rather anthitetical).

"Nothing can last forever: without the Death, there's no Life": this sentence exemplifies the cycle of the existence and the essence of the Inferi as place of Death and Life generation. Similarly Pluto and Proserpina embrace elements of Life and Death.

Tradition indicates that Proserpina is a force related to seeds: Pluto is "Sun proceeding underground: he visits the invisible world during the winter solstice" (Porphiry, Peri Agàlmaton).

Proserpina has a complex symbolism linked to the buds' cropping out: from this reason she has two horns and the female appearance evidencing her generating force. Proserpina is the force at the base of the seeds' growth (she is Ceres' daughter).

She wears a crown made of ears of wheat (basic food for mankind): she is surrounded by poppies (symbol of the Earth). Poppy is symbol of married love and fecundity. Poppy is an infernal plant because it is the symbol of sleep and death.

The myth of Proserpina represents the alternating of the seasonal cycles on Earth and all the processes of "rebirth" (palingenesis)

Pluto is represented by the helm (as representation of the invisible world and invisibility) and by a half-scepter. The lack of the scepter's peak is the symbol of his sovereignty on the Inferi World (The Under-World), the lack of the "Above": his autority is not related to the "Above". He wears a purple cover: purple is the colour of the Underworld representing light descending underground. Pluto has the scepter in his left hand and in his right hand he holds a horn of plenty (Richness), or a Key (Initiation symbol as well as symbol of the control of the Underworld).

Cerberus, the Pluto/Proserpina dog, has three heads to evidencing the three phases in the existence formation: seeding, receiving and growth. He also represents the three main sky regions: East, South and West. Pluto, sometimes standig up or sitting on a throne, keeps his right hand over the Cerberus' heads to remark his total control.

Black animals, snakes and cypress are sacred to Pluto/Proserpina, but the tree highly representing Pluto/Proserpina is the pomegranate whose fruit, which can be harvested in October and November, remarks the "link" with the Underworld.

The pomegranate is the symbol of the "link", above all the "Blood Link": this fruit is the symbol also of fecundity, richness, abundance. In addition the pomegranate represents the "rebirth" and initiation.

Richness and abundance in agriculture depends on the Pluto's Force. But, as already mentioned, Pluto and Proserpina embody also the Power of the Death without which it is not possible to generate new life. Pluto and Proserpina are therefore destroyng and creating forces in the same time. After all the palingenesis is impossible without the involvement of a preliminary "death" as precondtion of the complete abandoning of the profane existence. Being at the base of the Mysteries of Eleusis, the greater part of the symbolism and rituals of Proserpina and Pluto was (and still is) secret and it is not licit to talk about them extensively.
Pluto and Proserpina can be invoked beating the hands over the ground.

In the ancient Rome Pluto and Proserpina had a specific underground Temple in the Tarentum (or Terentum).

Plutone e Proserpina

November

November, whose name derives from the fact that it was the 9th month in the ancient calendar beginning in March, represents a period of "Interiority".

November is focused on the flowing of the natural energy returning back underground during winter. This period is dedicated to Infernal underworld Gods (Inferi) from who derives the energy for the creatures on the surface.

November is thus dedicated to Pluto (Underworld Jupiter) whose name means "extremely rich", and to Proserpina (the Girl walking like snakes). Pluto represents the deep, Proserpina the vital force nourishing life in spring.

Black animals, cypress and narcissus are sacred to Pluto. He may be invoked beating the hands on the ground.

Pomegranate tree and poppy are sacred to Proserpina who protects also funerals.

Novembre

A School Textbook

My son is attending the second year at the high school. Few days ago, while studying Art History, he has noticed some sentences throughout the text of his book: he asked my opinion about it. I think it could be useful to share these reflections in order at least to understand the depth of the abyss which have fallen in.

I quote the original sentences in order to be honest. I direct you also to the book which can be found on this link (only in italian language unfortunately...). The title of this book is "Itinerario nell’arte, Dall’arte paleocristiana a Giotto, Versione arancione". The authors are  Giorgio Cricco and Francesco Di Teodoro. Printed by Zanichelli.

The paragraph about the paleo christian art begins with these words (I have evidenced some phrases in bold)

"We have already discussed about christianity. Christianity, from a simply tolerated religion as many others religions, had a so widespread diffusion to become, after the Council of Nicaea (325), the official religion of the Empire and, in 380, even the sole admitted State religion. This, however, doesn't mean that paganism ceased to live in that moment: on the contrary, it survived for a long time above all in the countriside, at least until the VI-VII centuries. It is important to remind that, non accidentally, the term pagan comes from pagus, village, whose inhabitants (peasants and farmers), always reclutant as usual to any change, had the same behaviour also with regards to the traditional religion and its rites."

The imagine of these peasants always reclutant as usual to any change, is so naive to render any further comment extremely difficult. The lack of any historical analysis actually pushes to make only some silly prejudices having a rather surprising superficiality. What about an entire political class in the Senate (led by Simmacus or Praetextatus - not just few farmers and peasants) trying in any way to save, together with a millennial tradition, the political and ethical integrity of the Roman State and Society? The autors exclude the possibility that the term pagus may show more complex meanings. There are many books written about this topic. I've read them: they should do the same...

The paragraph continues:

"The christians as already said, will be the sole heirs of the real roman mentality. Christianity, therefore, could become very powerful also because, from a revolutionary religion (even a dangerous religion and source of danger for the Empire security because, accordingly with this faith, it refused the Emperor's divine nature), it accepted the roman idea of the State. During the IV century, thanks to its organization and economic power, it appeared as the unique force capable to give support to the Roman State, inheriting its functions. The history of christianity therefore is finally mixed with the history of Rome becoming its completing part".

Also in this circumstance, some ideas and concepts deprived of any historical base are cited. These are only prejudices without any historical foundation. Christianity has never been, and won't ever be, in continuity with the Roman Tradition. Christianity always worked to destroy the Roman State, the Roman Culture, the Roman Mentality, the Roman Ethics. Roman Ethics and christian ethics have nothing in common, nothing to share. Nothing. This concept must be clearly evidenced otherwise one can do huge mistakes like these professors do.

Christianity was a violent, irrational and foolish solution with a tradition even older than Rome itself. Rome just had the "baton": but this baton has been definitively lost with christianity. Christianity violently occupied antique rites, sites, cults, symbols and the language of the Roman Tradition: but it doesn't mean that it accepted and understood them. It was an usurpation, a cultural robbering. The idea of a christian pontifex is just a word game: there are no christian pontifices because there are only the real, authentic and traditional Roman Pontifices.

Christianity was violently imposed against the will of millions of men and women (women in particular paid the highest price for this free and happy conversion)

The overlapping of the christian festivals on the traditional roman ones was just a tool to impose a religion which people othewise couldn't accept. The same happened with the churches often concretely built over the Sacred Temples to remove the Old and impose the New on the same site. This is History: these facts can be easily found even for non experts. It's incredible to read these fairy tales in 2013: the bad indians and the good cowboys... Come on!

The paragraph continues:

"After all, artists and artisans working for the christians and the pagans were the same (it could not be otherwise). Hence, there is no discontinuity between roman and christian art".

Even in this case, this is a sentence without any historical foundation. The idea that artists were the same has no relevance: it doesn't demonstrate the possibility of any kind of continuity between these two arts. Actually there was an absolute discontinuity because the ethical systems of values involved were conflicting and totally diverging. There was no possibility of contact between the roman and the christian ethics (as well as between the two religions) and consequently no contacts between the arts emboding these values. The fate of these artists is also very interesting. Many of them tried to hide in their works (even in those made for the christians) many symbols and expressions of the Ancient Tradition. Many romanesque churches are "disguised temples" where it is quite easy to identify the God/Goddess to who the church is dedicated. In many depiction of the virgin mary we can easily identify Isis, Bona Dea, Magna Mater, Cybele or Ceres. All this was a strategy to make these cults survive: this was not a problem of a lack of artisans... Do the authors really think that these transition centuries were just a happy time?

I could say the same about the Gothic Art. Have you never heard the name of Mr Fulcanelli??

Let's go further...

"Above all during the first centuries after the jesus' birth, the only difference between pagan and christian art can be found in the different symbolic value the christians assigned to certains figures. For a pagan a scene of grape harvest and grape bunches represented just what they concretely are while for a christian these imagines were full of symbolic values (...). Similarly a fish for a pagan was just a sea animal while for a chirstian it was the symbol of christ (...) Again, a shepherd with a flock was, in a pagan view, just a rural picture, while for a christian it represented jesus "good shepherd" (...) A peacock was not just a bird gladdening a painting of a garden or a decoration in a pagan birdcage, but a symbol of eternity. The phoenix, a mythological bird reviving from its own ashes, was the symbol of christ resurrection."

Is this a joke?

Here, in addition to a number of prejudices without any foundation one can find many statements confirming the complete ignorance about these issues. The complexity of the traditional symbolism - together with the complexity of the myths' articulation - is well known. These traditional symbols described what one cannot describe by words opening a door towards a "different world" unreachable for profane people: any Cultor or Cultrix perfectly knows it
All the literature about the antique and sacred symbology is cancelled just in a while: Frazer, Kerenyi, Dumezil, Guenon, Eliade...  the list is too long.

I can accept that the authors may ignore Jamblicus, Proclus, Porphiry, Libanius, Nonnus or Plotinus (not to say the Pythagoreans!): but these trifles are out of the reach of any scholar. Citing the first two centuries after the jesus' birth is just taking a wild guess: it drives to further mistakes. In that period christianity was just a mere secta, not so diffused, without a specific symbology. I want just to remind that the Cross is a pagan symbol. Christians adopted the cross as symbol for their religion after a long time. Over the roofs of the churches (even during the middle age) there was the symbol of a cock (ooopss.. it a symbol of Mercury) rather than a cross. Furthermore, do the authors know the sacred value of geometry?

Raving and randomly citing the grapevine (a very complex Dyonysus' symbol, I've mentioned it in this blog), the peacock or the phoenix is an incredible own goal: anyone with a minimal culture about roman history perfectly knows the meaning of these symbols. Nonetheless, these two professors ignore all this.
So I wonder: what is a Caduceus in these authors' mind?  Just a stick of wood with two snakes  randomly twisted around it? A board game? A funny  fantasy representation? A logo of a greek drug?

Using just few words, they cancel thousands of years of culture, symbols, myths, traditions, values. This is to confirm that we are living in the age of the darkness, the "last age" (Kali Yuga) when everything considered superior becomes unintellegible and obscure.

It's very hard for me to make any additional comment. I've got no more words actually... I just think it's a very dangerous and serious problem that one can find such things in a textbook used to high school education. It is not possible to create any kind of culture over such bases and it is not possible that students learn such false and wrong ideas with no historical foundation.  How can they learn something if the teacher simply "doesn't know" or "ignores" or "badly knows"?

At best, all this may produce distorted opinions totally deprived of any link with reality. It contributes only to create generations of individuals unable to appreciate and understand the meaning of the Roman and Greek Art, Culture, Spirituality, with their symbols and deep value and sense.

It is not possible to write on a textbook  just what one likes or would like to write, the first thing one has in mind or, even worse, what is more suitable with a given religious or ethic perspective. I believe that a wrong or bad learning is definitively worse than a non-learning.
I wonder that such a poor book has been published by an important publisher and adopted by some schools. In my opinion, all this shows the low profile of the entire cultural dimension in Italy.

We have the right and the duty to firmly oppose against these fake expressions of prejudices, superficiality and lack of sound scientific accuracy. I can conclude that I will fight, in every occasion, to publicly denounce these silly aberrations which have nothing to share with a real idea of "culture".

I leave to the readers' opinion any further comment about this topic.

Faccio molta fatica a commentare queste affermazioni.

Vesta - Cohesion

Vesta  is a fundamental Goddess for the Traditional Roman Spirituality: this is confirmed by the critical role this Goddess played in the past for the Roman State, Community and Family.

Vestia is similar to the Greek Goddess Hestia with whom shares some characteristics. Nonetheless Vesta shows some peculiarities differentiating her from Hestia.

Porphiry, in Perì agalmàton, says that "The ruling principle of the power of Earth is called Hestia, of whom a statue representing her as a virgin is usually set up on the hearth; but inasmuch as the power is productive, they symbolize her by the form of a woman with prominent breasts".

Hestia, according to the tradition, has a prominent role among the Deities because she is at the beginning of the geneaology of the non-primordial Gods and Goddesses.  Hellenics firstly invoke her: she embodies the productivity of Earth and the common fire of mankind and Deities. she is alone, virgo, without limits, static, stable, firm: she cannot suffer any modification. She is at the Centre, she is Virtus. She represents a force placed in the inner places, as centre and foundation of the Universe: for this reason she is the cause permitting the stable permanence in itself of the essence of everything.

Vesta shows similar characteristics: she is the sacralization of that cohesion force, unifying and tying force, linking a family, a community, a State. But this powerful cohesion force can be found in everything as foundation of the existence of the Universe in its macrocosm and microcosm dimensions. She has the power of the Centre generating a centripetal energy, as the gravity force of the Earth. Vesta is the Relation-Energy, the Attraction Energy at the base of everything. She is the force keeping the Universe together.  For the Pythagoreans, the Centre of the Universe, the everything's origin, is named "the Hearth".

Being a cohesione force, Vesta is in opposition to Mercury who, in a broad sense, is always "elusive", "volatile", "always on the run".

According to the tradition, after the creation of a family, Vesta enters the house, not stepping on the doorway - sacred to Janus - sitting silently near the hearth or in the kitchen. She will sit there as long as the family will remain united in harmony. Meals at home among the family members is the most importat private rite dedicated to Vesta.  Conversely, Mercury enters the houses from the windows: he enters the house only to steal...

Vesta, in her silence, represents a condition of inner being, calmness, non-agitation in opposition to the agitation of Mercury. It emerges moreover the idea of permanence, stability, durability: a way back home, in a very broad symbolic sense, a turn towards the inner dimension, the centre, the origin, the silence. She is the "inner dimension", the "inner house", intimacy. Vesta, also considering her geneaology, is a starting and arriving point, the arrival to our safe destination. Her silence evokes contemplation, returning to our personal destiny.

Vesta is a "cohesion fire". This is a peculiar kind of fire defined also as the "fire of the house owner": this fire is totally different from other sacred fires such as the Vulcan's or the Mars' ones. The fire of Vesta is an originating fire not deriving from other fires: it is an axial and principal fire because it is the beginning of other fires. The fire of Vesta is therefore "origin and support of everything". It is lighted through the friction of wood from an arbor felix (and with this wood it will be maintained alive) or through the sunrays. This fire is the symbol of the link of the Cultor and Cultrix to the Earth, as Sacred Manifestation. This is the reason why this is a round fire. It describes these foundamental principles: it cannot be used as a tool to send offerings to Gods and Goddesses. The fire of Vesta is not an ignis aspergendus: its smoke cannot send offerings. An ignis aspergendus is an oriented fire, thus a quadrangular fire at the base of a Templum. This kind of fire represents the Sky (Another World), while the fire of Vesta represents the Earth (This World).

Please note that the words Sky and Earth are not here used in a cosmological, physical, astronomical scientific or profane terms. They are used as Sacred Terms or components of an unique process of representation of the Universe. Sky and Earth, male and female, expansion and contraction, active and passive, inhaling and expiration... The roundness of the Earth, as principle of stability in everything, refers to a lack of orientation and the equivalence of the directions.

The fire of Vesta, a Female Fire by definition, has to be always included in any rite together with the fire for offering.

The Ignis Vestae, in the Aedes Vestae in Rome had a round shape, represented the permanence of the Roman State on the Earth and History. Not surprisingly only women could have care of such fire: the Vestals used this fire to prepare the mola, a flour used for the animal sacrifices  (im-molate).

Bread is sacred to Vesta.

Vesta had (and still has not) no anthropomorphic representation because her fire is the sole and perfect image of Vesta.

It is important to remind that, differently from the Greek tradition, Vesta is at the end of any rite. While citing Junus in the prima, the invocation begins, Vesta is the conclusion of any invocation. She is often invoked as Vesta Mater to highlight as Earth and infera Goddess, force tying the matter.

Vesta - Coesione

Religion or Knowledge?

During these recent months, in writing my posts in this blog, I've started in using the term "Traditional Roman spirituality" instead of "Traditional Roman Religion". This choice has been caused by the fact that in my opinion the word "Religion", in its modern sense, is unlikely to be effectively capable to describe the more authentic and deeper meaning of the Roman Via to the Divine (as system expressing the synthesis of the whole Ancient Spiritual Tradition).
When considering the Traditional Heritage, one can say that this system shows different extents and levels on the base of the personal disposition of who is approaching to it.

One may be thus legitimately satisfied in considering Gods and Goddesses through  their "functions", demanding support and favours. In this perspective, Mars becomes "the God of War", Venus the "Goddess of Beauty", Minerva "the Goddess of Wisdom", etc. In this expression, this system is likely to work as a real Religion where Gods and Goddesses punish evil people, provide gifts and so on. There's nothing bad in this: but this is Religion.

When we look at the works by the Emperor Julian or Proclus, Iamblichus or Plotinus within this perspective, often we cannot understand what they are discussing about. All this appears as a chaotic, irrational, absurd, annoying, out-of-date theoretical philosophical work. So this is the question one should make: what are these Magistri talking about?

If we overcome a popular and profane religious dimension, trying to "understand", it is possible to realize that Gods and Goddesses, and all the Forces expressing the Divine, are terms of a complex vocabulary describing a form of "Knowledge" or a description of the World, Nature and Universe (at micro and macro levels). This is what I refered to when for example I have recently discussed about Mercury or Apollo: they express extremely complex concepts about the (micro and macro) Universe.

In a very broad sense, we are dealing with an approach moving side by side to the scientific one. Modern Science is a "tool" useful to understand, widening rational knowledge which, through its theories and laws, provides us with a phenomenal description of the Reality and the Universe. But science is not an absolute interpretation key: it shows different perspectives and approaches. Moreover science is not the sole interpretative key. Just consider geometry. The common adopted geometry is the Euclidean Geometry which is one of the possible geometries. Non Euclidean geometries provide completely different scientific results, which are however considered absolutely valid. This is to say that, by changing basic principles and axioms, science may achieve completely different descriptions of the Nature and the World. It is important to remind also that science consider only the dimension of physical phenomena: science provides a description about how Nature works, but it says nothing about what Nature really is.

This perspective shift requires a different form of Knowledge capable to make the World visible through completely different eyes. It's like wearing some glasses to correct a severe myopia. The reality around us is always the same: I can observe it within a scientific, technical or technological point of view, but I can focus it also within a different visual perspective.

Vesta, Jupiter, Juno, Apollo, Mercury, through their "qualities", may "talk to me" about something extremely complex: they are interpretative keys, forms of understanding and knowledge, possible interpretation of the Universe.

Knowledge provided by the Roman Via is not however based on logical demonstrations (in this sense it is often considered as a "non-Knowledge"), but rather on transcendent experiences. Sometimes these experiences may drive to conclusions similar to the scientific ones because there's no conflict and opposition between them, but rather integration. Consider for example Pitagoras or Hypatia who integrated these visions about the Everything.
It is important to evidence this idea of "experience" because the Traditional Roman Spirituality, being a "practice", provides a Knowledge resulting from a direct and personal experience. Within this dimension there is no space for faith, belief or opinions, in a profane sense. Similarly it is not possible to use rationality or rational thinking in this Via to the Knowledge. This is a totally different level and stage. There are no prayers, no profane meditations, no expressions of passionate, emotional and sentimental devotion. The dimension of Religion has been definitively overcome.
This is a form of Knowledge essentially linked to Contemplation or a direct connection to the Divine. Contemplating means building in his/her own inner being (by the otium or the absence of any action and thought), the Temple as Sacred Sapce for the identification with the Divine. In this way, it is possible to understand the idea of Plotinus according to whom "we must imitate Gods and Goddesses": knowing is being, becoming an unique entity with no differences. We cannot achieve a God if we are unable to become that God.

A Cultor and a Cultrix are "those capable to see" with a direct experience of the Divine, without dogmas, theories, philosophies, doctrines: with a no (conventional) knowledge (unknowing).
Nonetheless, all this requires continuing committment and efforts: a great discipline is needed as form of learning. If we want "to know" (in this new meaning) we must change ourselves. This Change is the central core of the Roman Via to the Spiritual Growth: this explains why this is a "practice" as ethical system (involving everyday behaviors in every moment of the life) giving a deep print to the personal existence.
The Traditional Roman Spirituality is thus an experience which has to be lived even before a series of norms, rules and ceremonies. If so,  one could manage it with a deep study: in this way one might acquire perhaps only "erudition" however unable to provide any support in really understanding the Roman Spirituality. This inner change produces a "translation", a transfer of meanings, ideas, concepts. Archaeology, literature, philosophy, history or philology are not at issue because the level has completely changed and one might miss the point: this is a "living level".
If not undertaken, the lack of inner change will constraint us at the erudition sphere will facing also the risk to be blocked in a folkloristic (often ridiculous) stage. Rites have a value (with an instrumental role) when they can help us in providing us with a real knowledge, when they help us in change us, because they are part of a Method. And when rites are connected to their original value, it is possible to understand their sense and role: from the dancing of the Arvales to the rite of lighiting the fire of Vesta with the Sun rays.

Personally, I am just starting to understand just few very small pieces about all this: I'm moving in the darkness catching just a glimpse of it. I cannot grasp a lot yet. Even in this case the images of Mercury and Apollo  come to my mind...

This is a Via, a path, a long walking whose final destination is not surely the most relevant aspect of the issue...
