Concentration is one of the fundamental elements for the execution of any spiritual exercise: it is also a fundamental factor for the otium.
It is essential however to understand what the concept of concentration really means and implies
It is important to evidence that concentration, within the Traditional Roman Spirituality, has nothing to share with any kind of "thinking", mental reflection and above all with any kind of prayer in profane, sentimental and devotional terms.
Concentration is basically a tool: it implies a "movement towards the Centre (Heart)", a deep inner meditation and focus, a total spiritual absorption, a feeling of "implosion". Concentration implies the capability to manage a quiet inner force, a inner peace to reach the Centre, perceiving the Real Heart. This Centre is immobile, calm, fixed, stable while everything around it is moving under agitation. In the status of Real Concentration nothing can worry us, nothing can disturb or distract us.
Concentration and Silence, in sacred and divination terms, drive us to the "Clear Vision", to the Con-Templation (Inner Templum), abandoning senses without repudiate them, but moving to a totally superior level.
