It is possible to provide some brief and simple citations about a deeper meaning and sense of the cult and symbology of Venus.
Venus represents the Generating Force hidden inside Nature, in particular the generating and purificating force of Water. It is important ot note that the letter "V" as initial of her name and the symbol of Venus are linked to the hermetic symbol of Water however connected to the feminine sexuality. The purificating power of Water-Venus is also evidenced by the Goddess' nudity: I will discuss this complex topic in another post.
Venus
contains in the same time Life and Death: she is defined also "mortis
et vitae locus".
Venus symbolizes, in hermetic terms, the passivity, contraction, the
Original Primigenial Force, the "Wet Path", "the Green Path", copper, sexuality,
the lumbar region.
Venus is also somehow linked to the secret name of Rome.
The roman grafito in Pompeii
The importance of the cult of Venus in Rome is extremely well known and
the realtion between the name of Rome and Venus is also evidenced by the
famous grafito in Pompeii.
