When you, entering a forest, perceive the beauty of the forest and you feel to be in a complete harmony with it, then, intuitively, you are in peace with the Deities. They are an essential part of our real nature, our Deep Nature, and when we are separated by our real nature we live in the fear. Perceiving such normality means giving a real sense to our lives.

Undertaking the Roman Via to the Deities implies a path to awakening: with the practice of continuing consciousness and awareness we undertake our walking knowing that taking the path is more important than the destination itself

DIS MANIBVS

inque mero mollita Ceres violaeque solutae:
haec habeat media testa relicta via.

I Mani chiedono poche cose: gradiscono l'affetto come ricco
che si sparga del grano con un poco di sale;

The Manes ask but little :
they value piety more than a costly gift : no greedy
Gods are they who in the world below do haunt the
banks of Styx. A tile wreathed with votive garlands,
a sprinkling of corn, a few grains of salt, bread soaked
in wine, and some loose violets, these are offerings
enough: set these on a potsherd and leave it in the
middle of the road. Not that I forbid larger offerings,
but even these suffice to appease the shades : add
prayers and the appropriate words at the hearths set
up for the purpose.

Dead

In the Traditional Roman Religion this world, this time, this reality only matter: "hic et nunc" (here and now). Life is an unique occasion which for this reason has to been appreciated and fully lived.

There's no "another world", or an "another life" more than the one we currently have: there is no Paradise, no Hell. Dead are and remain "something else" and excluded from human dimension. The memory everyone of us trasmits to the others is the only thing that really matters.

According to the "mos maiorum" the memory of the action of lived and living people matters rather than the action of dead (which is likely to be a nonsense).

Any contact between the living and the dead dimensions is considered as a "funestus" act or an impure act. A family in grief is defined as a "Familia Funesta" or impure and contaminated: this familiy has to be turned into the condition of "Familia Pura"

The generic idea of the dead is identified with the imagine of the Manes through a term which in latin language is always plural.

I morti
