E Nos Lases Iuvate: comprecatio

Quando in un bosco ne percepisci la bellezza e diventi tutt'uno con il bosco, allora, intuitivamente, sei in armonia e in pace con le Dee e con gli Dei. Essi sono parte della nostra vera natura, la nostra Natura Profonda, e quando siamo separati dalla nostra vera natura, viviamo nella paura. Percepire questa normalità vuol dire dare un senso reale al vivere che è insito in tutte le cose.

Intraprendere la Via Romana al Divino significa iniziare un percorso di risveglio: praticando l'attenzione e la consapevolezza continua ci incamminiamo lungo una strada sapendo che ciò che conta è il cammino per sè più che la destinazione.

When you, entering a forest, perceive the beauty of the forest and you feel to be in a complete harmony with it, then, intuitively, you are in peace with the Deities. They are an essential part of our real nature, our Deep Nature, and when we are separated by our real nature we live in the fear. Perceiving such normality means giving a real sense to our lives.

Undertaking the Roman Via to the Deities implies a path to awakening: with the practice of continuing consciousness and awareness we undertake our walking knowing that taking the path is more important than the destination itself.

Precatio to Juno

June is a month entirely devoted to the female polarity sacralized by the Goddess Juno (Jupiter's female polarity). On June 2nd the Roman Matronae invoke Iuno Regina to obtain peace, health and benefits for the Roman Community. The Precatio Iunoni Reginae is part of the ancient public cults and rites. Today we have only private (individuals and familiy rites) and community cults: so I've tried to adapt the ancient Precation to a modern use. It must be made only by married women (matres familiae) - actually in a very broad sense being part of a family - to which a libatio can follow.

"Roman People" may mean today the community of Cultores of the Traditional Roman Religion as a whole.

"Quirites" may mean in particular those making activities related to the study, development and diffusion of cults and rites of the Traditional Roman Religion.

"Res Publica" may mean those comunnities of Cultores and Families structured and organized around traditional cults and rites.

Precatio Iunoni Reginae

Iuno Regina, ast quid est quod melius siet p. R. Quiritibus
nos matres familiae, nuptae genibus nixae
te uti faxis, precamur, oramus obsecramusque
uti tu imperium maiestatemque p. R. Quiritium duelli domique auxis,
incolumitatem sempiternam uictoriam, ualetudinem populo Romano Quiritibus duis faueasque populo Romano, remque publicam p. R. Quiritium saluam serues maioremque faxis,
uti sies uolens propitia populo Romano Quiritibus, nobis domibus familiis.

Haec matres familias populi Romani
Quiritium nuptae genibus nixae, precamur, oramus obsecramusque

Juno Regina, if there is any better fortune that may attend the Roman people, the Quirites,
we mistresses of households of the Roman people, the Quirites, married women on bended knee,
pray that you bring it about, we beg and beseech that you increase the power and majesty of the Roman people, the Quirites in war and peace;
that you may grant eternal safety, victory and health to the Roman people, the Quirites;
and that you may protect the Roman people, the Quirites;
and that you may keep safe and make greater the state community of the Roman people, the Quirites;
and that you may be favourable and propitious to the Roman people, the Quirites, to us, to our houses, to our households.
These are the things that we mistresses of households of the Roman people, the Quirites, married women on bended knee, pray, beg, and beseech.

Precatio a Giunone

Giugno è un mese dedicato alla polarità femminile sacralizzata in Giunone (polarità femminile di Giove). Il 2 giugno le Matrone invocano Giunone Regina per chiedere pace e benessere per la comunità Romana. La Precatio Iunoni Reginae fa parte dei riti dell'antico culto pubblico. Poichè oggi possiamo svolgere riti privati (individuali o familiari) o riti comunitari, ho quindi tentato di adattare questa Precatio per l'uso che può essere fatto oggi. Essa deve essere effettuata da donne sposate (matres familiae) a cui può seguire una libatio.

Per Popolo Romano oggi possiamo intendere la comunità dei Cultores della Religione Tradizionale Romana.

Per Quiriti coloro che svolgono attività connesse allo studio, sviluppo, mantenimento e diffusione dei culti e dei riti comunitari.

Per "Res Publica" possiamo intendere quelle comunità di Cultores e di Famiglie organizzate intorno ai culti e ai riti tradizionali romani.

che l'Imperio e la Supremazia del Popolo Romano in guerra e in pace tu aumenti;
che tu dia incolumità sempiterna, vittoria, benessere al Popolo Romano e ai Quiriti;
che tu favorisca il Popolo Romano ed i Quiriti;
che la comunità del Popolo Romano e dei Quiriti tu salvi, tu conservi e tu faccia più grande;
sii favorevole e propizia al Popolo Romano e ai Quiriti;
che tu sia favorevole alle nostre case e alle nostre famiglie.

Così noi, madri di famiglia sposate, inginocchiate, ti preghiamo chiediamo e scongiuriamo.

Cosa significa "Pagano"?/What does it mean "Pagan"?

Il termine "Pagano" è nato con un significato offensivo, dispregiativo e negativo. I pagani erano coloro che continuavano a praticare gli antichi riti (molto spesso nelle campagne - Pagus=villaggio) rifiutandosi di accettare la religione cristiana. Ancora oggi con questo termine spesso si indica tutto ciò che è immorale, popolare, volgare, idolatra e immondo. Al contrario i pagani, ieri come oggi, sono spesso e per definizione, avendo come base il politeismo, in prima fila nella difesa della Natura e dei valori della tolleranza e di tutto ciò che è “plurale”.

The term "Pagan" was created with a negative and offensive sense. Pagans were in the past those who were still seeking the ancient rites (above all in the countryside - Pagus=village) refusing the new christian religion. Still today this term often is used to indicate anything is immoral, popular, vulgar, idolatrising, etc. On the contrary, at present as in the past, the Pagans are those, on the base of polyteism, by definition in the frontline to defend Mother Nature and the values of tolerance and anything is "plural".

Come Cultrici e Cultori attualmente non disponiamo di un Tempio adeguato sia allo svolgimento dei rituali sia come punto di incontro, meditazione e studio. Cosa si potrebbe fare per realizzare questo progetto? Avete idee o proposte in merito?

As Cultores at present we have no adequate Temples or sacred sites both for traditional rituals and for meditation, study and meetings. What it could be done to concretely achieve and implement such a project? Have you any idea or suggestion about it?

Frugalità: vivere nella semplicità e nella sobrietà, allontanando gli eccessi e accontentandosi di ciò che è realmente necessario
Superiorità: mai sentirsi inferiore a nessuno nella pratica della Via
Umanità: operare per il bene degli altri e della comunità
Utilità: fare in modo che il proprio operato sia utile agli altri ed alla comunità
Pietà: ciò che vi è di buono e di cattivo in una famiglia è evidenziato dal comportamento dei discendenti. Abbiamo il dovere di mettere in luce ciò che vi è di buono nella nostra famiglia: solo seguendo il mos maiorum e coltivando gli Dei/Dee possiamo ottenere questo risultato e raggiungere la Pax Deorum.

Frugality: live in semplicity and sobriety, avoiding excesses and ostentation, being satisfied with you really need
Superiority: never feel inferior or second to anybody in practicing the Via
Humanity: operate for the others' and the community's well being
Usefulness: make your actions useful to others and to the community
Pietas: what is good and bad in a family is evidenced by the descendants' behaviour. Only following the mos maiorum and cultivating Gods/Goddesses we can evidence the best of our family and ancestors and build our Pax Deorum.
