When you, entering a forest, perceive the beauty of the forest and you feel to be in a complete harmony with it, then, intuitively, you are in peace with the Deities. They are an essential part of our real nature, our Deep Nature, and when we are separated by our real nature we live in the fear. Perceiving such normality means giving a real sense to our lives.

Undertaking the Roman Via to the Deities implies a path to awakening: with the practice of continuing consciousness and awareness we undertake our walking knowing that taking the path is more important than the destination itself

Mercury

These days are dedicated, according to the Sacred Calendar, to Mercury. This is an extremely complex Divine Force showing difficult symbolic implications and characteristics, not accidentally, hermetic.
First of all,  if you wish to try to understand this Divine Force it is necessary to throw away the stupid profane foolishness around Mercury like "Mercury as god of trade or god of thieves"

Mercury can be considered extremely similar to Ermes. For this reason, I intriduce this passage of the Peri Agalmàton by Porphyry:

"Hermes is the representative of reason and speech, which both accomplish and interpret all things. The phallic Hermes represents vigour, but also indicates the generative law that pervades all things. Further, reason is composite: in the sun it is called Hermes; in the moon Hecate; and that which is in the All Hermopan, for the generative and creative reason extends over all things. Hermanubis also is composite, and as it were half Greek, being found among the Egyptians also. Since speech is also connected with the power of love, Eros represents this power: wherefore Eros is represented as the son of Hermes, but as an infant, because of his sudden impulses of desire".

This passage is surely very difficult but it clearly evidences how Mercury is the sacralization of Reason, rather than Rationality (Minerua): Mercury is logos, speech, manifested thought, word, divine sound as Universe's direction and order. Mercury is "language" expressing thoughts (Vox materializing Mens) in their purest and divine form: he brings the divine message, the divine word, the divine sound. This sound, this word, this message (being divine) is thus hermetic not clear and hardly understandable, not accessible to common and profane mankind. Understanding logos and the hermetic speech implies an elevation, an illumination. And from this divine sound one can achieve the "vision". But this speech (and its meaning) is so difficult to catch and understand to be represented by "speed": "Any Thought Flies", the speed of Mind.

The statues of Mercury represent this speed, the presence of wings (on his feet), he just lightly touches the ground in a position representing the "Absolute Movement". These representations are at the opposite of the statues of Jupiter (he is sitting on a throne and immobile).

Mercury is a generating force because the logos is the origin of the generation of all things.

Mercury moreover permeates many physical, astrological, alchemic, symbolic, magical entities. His sacred number is 4 (quatre de chiffre) and his typical symbol is the caduceus - tool and symbol of Solar and Lunar Power, the interrelated duality unified and bound in the axis

Mercury is a celestial as well as infernal God because guide of souls to the underworld with a relevant role in the funerary dimension.

I can just cite some very brief notes about the symbolic role of Mercury in the Hermetic Tradition (Corpus Hermeticum) and alchemic (instability, volatility, velocity which when cought cna become pure matter). These issues cannot be discussed her in detail.

Approaching the Divine Force of Mercury, given his speed, implies two options: achieving a great knwoledge  may allow us a) to slow down his velocity or b) to overcome our natural slowness trying to accelerate our Mind. All this is the precondition to understand the entire Divine Dimension.

Without this great knowledge, and the necessary effort to achieve it; surely Mercury will remain for us only the "god of trade and god of thieves".You are too slow...
