The Cypress

The Cypress is an infelix tree, connected to the underworld deities Pluto and Proserpina and subjected to the influence of Saturn. Because of its shape, it is mainly linked to Pluto (Jupiter of the Underworld: The richest of all the Gods): this God, who traditionally does not have an anthropomorphic representation, is manifested symbolically in the form of a cypress.

Being permeated by this God, who, like all the underground Deities, is connected to the natural cycle of life/death, the cypress trees were always planted in groves around temples: eradicating a cypress symbolically is therefore an act of sacrilege against Pluto.

For the same reason (the cycle of life/death of Nature), the cypress trees are planted around the vineyardsi, cultivated fields, the borders between fields. Its wood is considered sacred and imperishable: the scepter of Jupiter or the club of Hercules are symbolically made ​​of cypress wood.

The cypress expresses Despair and Inconsolable Sorrow. Symbolically, according to tradition being a plant related to Death, it allows to "walk on water" (death is placed above the Life-water), to remain in the abyss and be invisible. This tree is also used for some of the so-called remedies "Purple Via" (purple is the color of Pluto representing the light in darkness) and preparation of incenses and smokes.

His ritual name is Cyparissus 

Il Cipresso

Il Cipresso è un albero infelix, connesso alle Divinità Infere Plutone e Proserpina e sottoposto agli influssi di Saturno. A causa della sua forma, esso è collegato principalmente a Plutone (Giove Infero: il più ricco fra tutti gli Dei): questa Divinità, che nella tradizione non dispone di una rappresentazione antropomorfa, si manifesta simbolicamente nella forma di un Cipresso. 

Essendo quindi permeati da questo Dio, che, come tutte le Divinità sotterranee è collegato al ciclo naturale vita/morte, i cipressi venivano sempre piantati nei boschetti vicino a templi: sradicare un cipresso simbolicamente è pertanto un atto sacrilego contro Plutone.

Per la stessa ragione (ciclo vita/morte della Natura) i cipressi vengono piantati intorno ai vigneti, ai campi coltivati, ai confini fra i campi. Il suo legno è sacro e considerato incorruttibile: lo scettro di Giove o la mazza di Ercole sono simbolicamente fatti di legno di cipresso. 

Il cipresso esprime la Disperazione e la Tristezza Inconsolabile. Simbolicamente secondo la Tradizione, essendo una pianta connessa alla Morte, consente di "camminare sulle Acque" (la morte si pone al di sopra della vita), di permanere negli abissi e di essere invisibili: questo albero viene utilizzato anche per alcuni rimedi della cosiddetta "Via Viola" (il viola è il colore di Plutone e rappresenta la luce nelle tenebre) e preparazione di incensi e di fumi.

Il suo nome rituale è Ciparisso.

November

November, whose name derives from the fact that it was the 9th month in the ancient calendar beginning in March, represents a period of "Interiority". 

 

November is focused on the flowing of the natural energy returning back underground during winter. This period is dedicated to Infernal underworld Gods (Inferi) from who derives the energy for the creatures on the surface.

November is thus dedicated to Pluto (Underworld Jupiter) whose name means "extremely rich", and to Proserpina (the Girl walking like snakes). Pluto represents the deep, Proserpina the vital force nourishing life in spring.

Black animals, cypress and narcissus are sacred to Pluto. He may be invoked beating the hands on the ground.

Pomegranate tree and poppy are sacred to Proserpina who protects also funerals.

Novembre

Il mese di Novembre, così denominato perchè era il nono mese dell'anno antico che iniziava a Marzo, rappresenta il periodo dell'"Interiorità". 

 

Novembre è focalizzato sul flusso dell'Energia Vegetativa e Vitale che rientra nella Terra  durante tutto il corso dell'inverno. E' un periodo dedicato alle divinità sotterranee (Inferi) da cui deriva l'abbondanza della vita sulla superficie della Terra.

Novembre è dedicato pertanto a Plutone (Giove Infero) che significa "Ricchissimo", il "Dovizioso" e a Proserpina ("La Fanciulla che procede come i Serpenti"). 

 

Plutone rappresenta la profondità, Proserpina la forza vitale che alimenterà la vita in primavera.

A Plutone sono sacri tutti gli animali neri, il cipresso ed il narciso. Viene invocato battendo le mani per terra.

A Proserpina sono sacri il melograno ed il papavero. I funerali sono sottoposti alla sua protezione.
